Self-Portraits as Others

I created a series of self-portraits to explore my experiences with surrounding objects and people though performance. Later, I made portraits in which I performed to be my friends. This was to reflect on my relationships with people close to me and shaped me.

自画像是一种对于自我的观察与探究。我用个人物品遮挡住脸，以收集的物品作为道具进行即兴动作探索，借助我的选择和动作代替面容表达自我身份。同时，在塑成自我的过程中，我不由自主地受到人际关系的影响，正如梅洛庞蒂所说：“人是他人的一面镜子。”我模仿表演了两位亲密的女性朋友，根据我对她们的印象设计动作和场景，通过人与人之间的共情体验探讨他人对我的影响。
