Runxuan Yang is a Chinese-born  artist and practice-based researcher working across shadow theatre, image-making, physical movement, and storytelling. Rooted in themes of feminist agency, diasporic identities, and marginalized voices, Runxuan’s work reflects on the complexities of moving between cultures and the intersectional struggles of belonging.

Drawing from her personal experiences of growing up in China and navigating life between East and West, Runxuan interrogates how women's diaspora experiences are shaped by objectification—both within their own culture and through external gazes. Her practice often incorporates tactile materials, intimate storytelling, and collaborative workshops to create deeply evocative performances and installations.

Runxuan holds an MA in Performance Making from Goldsmiths, University of London, and a BA in Communication Design from The Glasgow School of Art. Her works have been performed and exhibited across London and Beijing. Through her art, Runxuan invites audiences to confront, question, and celebrate the resilience of those who navigate between worlds.
