Making Sparks

As part of Muriel Spark’s centennial celebration at Glasgow Women’s Library, I made book jackets and prints for her novel ‘The Bachelors’. Inspired by the dark humours in the book, I tried to combine her words with my images created by letterpress, screen-printing and collagrah, to express a sense of lonely and sickness even being within the crowd.

作为格拉斯哥女性图书馆策划的穆丽尔斯帕克百年纪念展的一部分，我为她的小说《单身汉们》制作了封面和版画。依据书中冷峻的黑色幽默，通过金属和木制活字印刷、丝网印刷、纸板剪贴版画等方式，我尝试将图像和书中字句组合，表达有旁人陪伴时仍然挥之不去的病态和孤独感。
