Inside Out

Pocket, as private space being carried into the public, puts private possessions in danger, but it also possesses the power to change its surroundings. Through research, workshops and discussions, I noticed the vulnerability and power of pockets. As a protest for the lack of pockets on female clothing, I sewed 20 pockets on a shirt that I wear. I made a performance at an exhibition opening, which consists of two parts: the first part focuses on the pocket’s relationship with one’s body experience; while the second part enacts an interaction between oneself and the surroundings.
